Our Approach
At The Swan Buxton we aim to make our website welcoming and straightforward for everyone. We follow recognised accessibility standards and good design practice so that visitors can find information quickly and enjoy a smooth experience.
What We Do
We design and build our pages so that they are clear, consistent and easy to navigate. Whenever possible we:
- Use plain language and clear headings.
- Ensure text and background colours have strong contrast.
- Use readable fonts and allow text resizing through your browser settings.
- Provide alternative text for meaningful images.
- Make navigation and forms accessible using a keyboard only.
Design & Standards
Our website is built using modern HTML and CSS that follow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2). We aim to meet the AA standard, which covers a broad range of accessibility requirements.
Keeping Things Up to Date
We review the site regularly and update content, layout and colours where needed. Accessibility is considered whenever new features or pages are added.

Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, there may be areas that could still be improved. For example, older PDF documents may not be fully compatible with screen readers. If you need a document in a different format, please let us know and we will do our best to help.
Continuous Improvement
We are always looking for ways to make this site easier to use. Your feedback helps us identify issues we might miss and plan future improvements.
